HireKarma is a centralized recruitment platform that connects students, universities, and employers through job fairs and campus drives. As part of the “BPUT O JOBZ” initiative, HireKarma aimed to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and trust of the recruitment process by integrating secure, verifiable credentials into its platform.
Campus recruitment events involve high volumes of student profiles and job applications, making verification a time-consuming and error-prone process. Corporate interviewers and nodal officers often rely on manual document checks, which can slow down interviews and increase the risk of forged or incomplete information. HireKarma needed a scalable, secure solution to verify candidate credentials instantly—reducing administrative effort while increasing trust for all stakeholders.
HireKarma partnered with Ooru Digital’s CredIssuer to integrate verifiable digital credentials directly into its recruitment workflow. Two credential types were implemented:
Direct API integration with HireKarma ensured smooth VC generation and delivery.
Separate Student Profile and Job Application VCs addressed both pre-screening and on-site verification needs.
Corporate interviewers and nodal officers accessed credentials in seconds.
W3C-compliant, tamper-proof credentials increased trust among stakeholders.
HireKarma and Ooru Digital plan to scale the use of verifiable credentials across more universities and job fairs. The roadmap includes adding digital wallet support, real-time issuance notifications, and integration with broader employer verification systems—further streamlining recruitment workflows.
